All the Work Involved

“Sunflower Seasons” mosaic tabletop in work

Sunny summer days are spent in the garden working on my mosaics, listening to hte birds and creating art. What a delight, the hummingbirds attacked me while working because unknowingly I approaced their nest. Bees were humming on my lemon tree and working hard to collect the sweet pollen.

All the beauty and peace surrounding me is a gift of nature that often passes unobserved and unappreciated. Moments of reflection and inner peace are healing for my soul and a great escape from the hustle bustle of everyday’s life.

Cutting the mosaic pieces and adjusting the rough edges provide rewarding little crackling sounds of my work’s progress. I love having nice clean grout lines because I think good definition of the shapes is important to accentuate my composition.

My growth as an artist… I was born in Baia Mare /Nagybanya, a city in the region of Transylvania located in Romania. From very young age I was attracted to nature and people. I began my formal studies in art at age seven at the well known local “Liceul e Arte Baia Mare” and I continued my studies till end of high school. Fortunate enough to have very reputable local artist as my teachers, I had a chance to experiment various medias (painting, sculpture, textile art and graphic art), and many art styles. Unfortunately, I was unable to follow my path as an artist till later in life. I’m pursuing my calling as an artist for the last four years and I enjoy every ceative moment. Trough my artistic expressions I wish to bring on moments of refelection and calm, insightful moments of meditation and contemplation. Art beautifies not only our surroundings but also enriches our souls.
